Mastiscs ControlMastitis is a major culprit for dairy industry. This is not only the problem of our country but its prevalence is worldwide. Every year nearly 40 billion rupees loss India has to bear by loss of milk production due to this disease. Mastitis causes 20 – 25 % loss in milk production when an animal is affected from this disease.

In order to prevent this loss by mastitis, we follow sound strategic programs at farmers’ door step level. Being a managemental disease, farmers are to be awared of hygienic/clean milk production. Training programs for animal hygiene, udder hygiene, utensils hygiene, personal hygiene etc. to be followed to control this disease. Carried out California Mastitis Test (CMT) from milk sample of selected MPPs under MCPP to detect sub clinical mastitis. Also, we make them aware about the use of Teat Dip Solution to prevent mastitis.

  • It also focuses on rationalisation of drug usage, especially antibiotics by adopting cost-effective, efficacious and farmer friendly alternatives like “Ayurvedic Veterinary Medicine” (AVM) for managing many common ailments in bovines, including mastitis.
